The Englewood Jazz Festival is produced by Live the Spirit Residency.

The 14th annual Englewood Jazz Festival will take place on Thursday, September 19- Saturday, September 21 at the Hamilton Park Cultural Center

Thursday. September 19 – Hamilton Park Cultural Center, 5:30

Open Rehearsal with the Live the Spirit Big Band, performing two new extended- works for jazz ensemble by Ernest Dawkins and Peter Edwards (UK)

Roundtable discussion on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., with composers Ernest Dawkins, Peter Edwards, and Kelan Phil Cohran, historian Timuel Black, and poet Kahari B.

Friday, September 20- Hamilton Park Cultual Center, 7:30

World premiers of two new works for the Live the Spirit Big Band:

“A Dream Come True or a Dream Deferred?” by Ernest Dawkins featuring words by Kahari B.

and a new work by Peter Edwards (Title TBA)

Saturday, September 21- Hamilton Park Cultural Center 12:00- 6:00

 * Ernest Dawkins’ New Horizons Ensemble with special guest Billy Harper

Great Black Music Ensemble under the direction of Mwata Bowden wit  speclal guest 2013 Spirit  of Jazz awardees Kelan Phil Cohran and Art Hoyle

*Henry Johnson Trio 

       *Taylor Moore Trio with special guest vocalist Margret Murphy-Webb
